News Media - A terrific resource for spreading the word about your cause. Contact your local media outlets for coverage. In the Los Angeles area, these include LA Times, Southern California News Group (LA Daily News, SGV Tribune, Pasadena Star News, Press Telegram, etc.), Outlook News Group (Burbank Leader, Pasadena Outlook, San Marino Tribune, etc.), KCAL/CBS, KTLA, FOX11, KNBC and KABC.
Social Media – A free and easy medium for sharing your story across a wide reach. Use every social media channel to your advantage. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and others are easy to use and readily available.
Specialty Media & Influencer Partnerships – Engage with established communities that align with your mission. For example, Asian American advocacy groups have been helpful for our cause as Sharon was a Filipino American.
Change.org – Consider setting up a petition on change.org to get your message quickly supported and distributed to targeted officials.
Letter Writing Campaign – Leverage your community of support by having templates and recipient addresses ready for your team to send targeted messages directly to community leaders and elected officials.

The SHARE Initiative was formed to unite family, friends, and supporters to demand answers and justice for Sharon. While our current focus remains on Sharon’s case, we aspire to raise awareness about gender-based violence and support communities impacted by similar tragedies in the future.
